FromSoftware now has complete ownership of the Elden Ring trademark.
FromSoftware, the renowned game developer responsible for titles like Bloodborne and Dark Souls, now holds complete ownership of Elden Ring, the highly acclaimed action RPG that was released almost two years ago.
According to a trademark assignment document from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Bandai Namco, the publisher of Elden Ring, transferred the ownership of the game’s trademark to FromSoftware. along with the associated goodwill and any claims related to the use and ownership of the Trademark.
Elden Ring was released in February 2022 and quickly became a massive success for FromSoftware, both critically and commercially. It sold over 20 million copies in its first year alone. Shortly after its release, FromSoftware announced that they were working on the game’s first DLC expansion, titled Shadow of the Erdtree, although no release date has been confirmed yet.
This news follows a recent report stating that Tencent is currently developing a mobile game based on Elden Ring.
In our glowing review of Elden Ring, my colleague Mitchell Salztman described it as a significant evolution of FromSoftware’s previous works, particularly the Souls series. The game combines challenging combat with a vast open world that grants players the freedom to forge their path.

The trailer begins in a dark, misty landscape, with eerie sounds and a distant, crumbling city. Abandoned vehicles hint at a recent battle.
[Cut to Characters]
A diverse group of characters, led by a seasoned soldier, prepares to confront the undead, armed and ready for survival.
[Flashbacks and Lore]
As the leader speaks, quick flashes reveal the outbreak, civilization’s fall, and familiar faces from previous titles, connecting to the Zombies Terminus lore involving ancient artefacts and failed experiments.
[Action Sequences]
Intense battles unfold in various settings—subway stations, foggy forests, and high-tech facilities—showcasing each character’s unique abilities against hordes of zombies.
[New Features]
The trailer hints at new gameplay mechanics, including customizable weapons, unique zombie types, environmental hazards, and a crafting system for powerful items.
[Climactic Showdown]
Tension escalates as the team confronts a massive, mutated zombie boss, showcasing its terrifying strength and agility.
UFL, the groundbreaking premium football simulation video game created for PlayStation 5, will be released on September 12, 2024.
The concluding trailer for the action RPG Black Myth: Wukong, created by Game Science, is scheduled to be released online today in anticipation of the game’s official launch. This trailer features previously unseen combat gameplay, narrative cutscenes, and new levels and characters.
