Rumor: Leaked Online – New Information on Ghost Recon Game Emerges

Published

on

Details of the upcoming Ghost Recon game have been leaked online, exciting fans of the franchise who have been eagerly awaiting news of the next instalment. Following the release of Ghost Recon Breakpoint in 2019, which focused on online play and live service elements, the game faced challenges with the introduction of NFTs and eventually had its live service support discontinued in April 2022.

Insider Gaming has revealed information about the next Ghost Recon game, codenamed Project Over, expected to launch between 2025-2026. A major change in this upcoming title is the shift to a first-person perspective, a departure from the third-person view traditionally associated with the series. Drawing inspiration from the Modern Warfare series, Project Over aims to deliver intense gameplay and a gritty tone reminiscent of VOID Interactive’s Ready or Not.

Set in the fictional Naiman War, the game promises to feature controversial missions that push players to make difficult decisions, such as a scenario where a squad must decide whether to shoot a man carrying a baby they suspect to be a bomb. Fans can anticipate a fresh take on the Ghost Recon franchise with Project Over.

This mission may ring a bell for FPS players familiar with the contentious Clean House mission from the 2019 Modern Warfare game. In this mission, players are assigned to infiltrate a house, ultimately uncovering a mother and her child. Opting to harm the mother prompts soldiers to question the player’s decisions while attempting violence on the baby results in a game over screen, reinforcing the game’s stance that “children are non-combatants” and reprimanding the player for their actions.
